Evangelism is a Plague

Back in 2016 when things actually made a lick of sense and I had some resemblance of hope for the world I had a best friend.

For the sake of Simplicity we will call him Nar.

Nar was a chill dude, we became friends in high school when our mutual friend Go had us hanging around each other a lot and we became super close.

Nar and I both had a mutual respect for each other and a mutual frustrating friendship with Go.

During this time Nar was everything to me Go was okay, but annoying as hell and had no concept of boundaries whatsoever.

Never in my life did I think this LGBT ally, who wanted to vote for Bernie in 2016 or at least I was under the impression he did get turned into an anti-gay, anti-trans, conservative lunatic that goes on 3 hour long Facebook rants that got so bad that I had to unfollow his account while still being friends with him, because I don't want to lose my best friend over something like politics if they treat me well.

What was the catalyst for his change?

His new best friend Ra✝️.

He met Ra✝️ during college, and was groomed into an evangelist cult. When I first saw the signs of this happening , I decided as his best friend that I should warn him about what does this dude is doing. I tell him that it's okay for him to go to church with this guy. You're allowed to believe whatever you want to believe, but do not let them change who you are, I know how these people operate. And he said that he would keep that in mind.

Needless to say now Nar is an overweight father, who looks like he's in fucking hell constantly, and just hates everything he once stood for. Despite me openly saying that I do not want politics brought up around me if he wants to hang out they always manage to come up, and he has plugged his own podcast at me once.

I will likely never get my friend back, and have to live with that.
