Is this what society has come to?

Is this what society has come to? Do we seriously have to contend to horrendous news cycles and equally as horrendous things happening in real life due to the presidential administration, all while constantly worrying if we're next? And not even the optimists are giving even a sliver of hope or respite in this economy?
Bro it's been one year in this presidential term and I'm already losing it. I can't function in school or work because I'm worried about being locked up and imprisoned for abiding by the law. I don't know when I'll be next. If shit can go so incredibly wrong in one year then I don't even know what America will look like in four years. Or if I'll even be alive.

Honestly I really just want to buy a one way plane ticket and escape the states until the next election, but I can't because I'm in school. I'm about to be done with this shit, just drop everything and forget about it until 2028.
