This isn’t autism right?

This isn’t autism right?

So here’s a real situation that happened but with fake names: Jane was fuck buddies with a Tom for a few months until Tom broke it off because Jane wanted to be in a real relationship now, but Tom didnt so he broke it off since they weren’t on the same page anymore. Jane really likes baking and baked cookies to help at a fundraiser for the club Jane and Tom are both a part of. Tom came up to the table and said “oh cool, can I have a cookie?” Jane proceeded to freak out and Tom just backed away. Jane went on to tell her therapist that she believed that when Tom asked if he can have a cookie, she believed he was attempting to humiliate her, bully her, and make a mockery of her.

Another situation: Sally (roommate) is taking a shower. If someone walked in accidentally it makes sense that Sally would go “oh my god!” and try to cover her body up, yes? Well Jane walked in on Sally taking a shower, but Jane was the offended and blamed Sally. Jane said Sally violated her because she didn’t consent to seeing Sally nude and that Sally invalid if she says she’s the one who should be embarrassed because she’s allegedly copying Jane. Jane doesn’t believe Sally was embarrassed because Jane felt like she was the one who got wronged.

Last real situation: Sam was throwing away some boxes in the bins. The bins are in the garage. It was already dark, but it was just a quick trip to bins in the garage and would take less than a minute. Sam knows the layout of the house so she didn’t bother to turn the lights on. Sam was also listening to music and didn’t hear Jane come home. Jane heard Sam at the bins, turned the lights on, and stood behind Sam until Sam turned around. Jane didn’t say a word, but stormed out of the house. Jane is now angry and accusing Sam of “spying on her” and now feels like her life is endangered.

What is this?
This can’t be autism, is it?
Jane has this weird mindset or behavior where someone will do something very normal and harmless and she’ll somehow be convinced that you’re trying to kill her.

With the exception of Jane’s own friends, if Jane sees you do anything at all, she makes the biggest jump in assumptions that I could never even make up myself. It’s so far off every single time, too. Normal things like doing chores become personal offenses and when she does something wrong to someone else, if she doesn’t like the way you reacted, she demands an apology from you because a number of unrelated reasons. And when Jane does sort of admit to being in the wrong, she’ll roll her eyes when she apologizes but will also justify what she does because she has anxiety (example: Jane was invited to a Chinese new year party as someone’s plus one. Jane didn’t personally know these people. She was just the date. Throughout the night, Jane rolled her eyes, sighed in annoyance, and even told one person to fuck off when party host’s sister tried to include in her an activity. The person who brought Jane to the celebration got mad at Jane for her behavior and she claimed she felt bad, but also said everyone was being insensitive to her because she has anxiety and anxiety causes her to act mean to people and she can’t help it).

Jane clearly has some sort of problem, but I can’t put my finger on it. This is the weirdest behavior I’ve ever seen in anyone in my entire life. I’ve never met anyone who acts like this.
One person I know suggested Jane might have autism, but may be on some sort of severe end of the spectrum, but I’m not fully convinced that’s the case.

Either way, I fucking hate Jane. I wish people stopped inviting her to our get together or enabling her behavior.

I am a woman. I know what the problem is. Jane is heart broken. She developed feelings for Tom and she was hurt. She feels discarded. This is the aftermath of that. Time will heal.
