Sympathy became a trend

Lately, people on social media suddenly experienced a collective awakening, and now are aware of the wrong doings of their countries, and what countries they oppressed. Yet, I still see videos of people praising past presidents for how "good" they were. Obama is a war criminal. Queen Elizabeth is a war criminal. Just because you perceive them as charismatic or "iconic" doesn't make them any better. The only reason you even HAD an awakening is because you discovered that war criminals can hurt YOU. You don't care about us. You don't care about who lost what and who did it. You got burned by the same people that have been torturing us for YEARS and suddenly you're on our side. If , tomorrow, someone went into the office, and they fixed your way of living, you'd forget about us all over again, and start idealizing them. I am so sick and tired of seeing people praise war criminals just because they fed them.
I don't exactly mean to generalize and put all people in one category, I know that there are people out there who did it out of ignorance perhaps. But seeing videos all over the internet praising war criminals just ticked me off.
