Super Bowl
The performances don’t have the same feel as they used to, the actual games are alright i guess, but everything feels so dull now and I hate how obvious it is that everything is catered for the at-home viewers thanks to advertisers (this part will only make sense if you went in person). The commercials all tend to suck and are put online now days before the actual event. Killing any reason to watch it live. Same with the musical performances. I grew up with Green Day, especially American Idiot. But you know what? I cant care less about seeing a half-assed performance of the song, along with Billie Jo whining "fuck fascism" or whatever. And the super bowl commercials with some horribly aged celebrity reprising their role from a movie from 20 years ago is just sad.
Even when I was a kid I saw the super bowl as this thing that is build up to be big, but that no one really cared about.
