New series idea

I am giving permission for anyone to steal this. If someone works at a fledging streaming platform and can get this made, please do.

Working title: Appalachastan

Basically a soap opera, coming of age set in a realistic area for everyone who isn't spoiled California rich kids.

There would be no mountain ranges. Just shitty shopping centers. Corn fields. Depressing woods areas.

No "graduation day" special. The cast would be adults who are 19-21 and still in high school. Graduation scene would take place in a indoor gym that looks and smells like the 70s. And half the students won't even show. Those who do show, if they're the main cast will just be getting a worthless piece of paper acknowledging 7 years of high school and no actual diploma.

The parents will not be rich yuppies like on 90210. They'll be white trash who hate their lives, who had wedlock kids at 20ish and don't care that their offspring are doing the same.

No BMWs. You'll have one redneck who drives a truck he can't afford. Then there will be some douche who pretends his piece of shit 20 something year old muscle car is great.

Tattoos. Vapes. Mcdonalds. Dyed hair. Piercings. Meth. Adderall. These are the vices.

And the whole thing of these shows always acting like characters hooking up is some huge deal, on this show it'll acknowledge the reality that white trash are doing this shit on the first or second date.

Basically, just make a show that's actually like real life for most people. No glamour. No smut. No fantasy.

This would be a hit.
