I’m angry because I saw a livestream for a rocket launch today of Elon Musk’s Starship Mars rocket launch, and I wanted to watch it explode but they scrubbed the launch like they think there’s a chance something else might happen.

They don’t even waterproof the heat shields, they use liquid methane and liquid oxygen, the boiling point of liquid oxygen is -296.5F and the freezing point of liquid methane is -297.3F and the liquid oxygen and the liquid methane are separated by a thermally conductive stainless steel common dome and they plan on sending that thing to Mars through interplanetary space in direct sunlight for months without messing up that less than one degree range where you don’t freeze half the propellant or boil the other half.
