Since we're downsizing governments...

Since the US is hell bent on downsizing government and social services while increasing the cost of everything, let's set term limits for professional politicians. Get rid of all the out of touch "leaders" (ha, not my definition of leaders) in power. America the land is absolutely beautiful. The people in charge is far from beautiful. They're down right ugly.

Been there done that. The modern Tea Party rolled into DC with the "set term limits policy" for elected officials about 20yrs ago. Did not last though because once elected to power no one wants to give it up. They soon started sounding like the rest of them, claiming their experience and insider knowledge of how the "sausage making of government policies" really works is much more important than keeping their term limit promise. There are some states that have terms for their governors, but guess where they try and head off to afterwards if they want to stay in politics, the US senate. The NC last governor Roy Cooper(D) who was term limited will likely be running for NC US Senator next race where if a winner he can stay until he drops dead or loses the seat.
