normalized modern day ‘sexism’

no matter how much we improve as a society, gender inequality and discrimination will unfortunately always exist somewhere, even if it’s subconscious. now, women ARE just as capable as achieving things as men, but if you were to look into the ones who are the idols of many, you’ll see that they’re almost always men. mines are, to say the least. i’m afab and my gender identity is uncertain, but i feel somewhere in my heart that i will never reach their level, unless i am a cisgender man. i mean, coming across a female athlete who is considered a goat of their field and is admired by everyone, or a famous female stand up comedian who is actually, genuinely funny, even to men, is almost impossible, even in the 21st century. i know there are so many people out there who will defend gender roles till the end, and i probably will me attacked by them below this rant. and for me, i wish that we didn’t need feminism as an ideology for gender equality. i wish that was the norm, from the beginning, to the end. i wish men and women would be able to do the same things and not be categorized into fields. that’s what it should’ve been, from the start of society.
