So tired of my boss. I've only been working at my job for like a month (only weekends) and even though she knows that it's my first job she keeps treating me as if I had a ten years experience. Just because I made two mistakes the other day she started yelling at me and saying that I wasn't showing any interest, that I wasn't helping my coworkers and so on. I'm mad because I hate it when people assume things about me that aren't true, and after trying my best for a month it pisses me off that she said that I only want to get paid while doing nothing lol. I feel like walking on egg shells when I have to work with her, and just the idea of having to do so again this week is making me so anxious. I'm planning on quitting if she keeps treating me badly, but at the same time I don't want to leave because I need the money. It's seriously starting to affect my self confidence :'

I worked with a young man once who kept making mistakes and people would walk behind him and just fix the errors. One day, a person exploded on him and yelled at him about his chronic mistakes and how everyone had to fix all of his fuck ups. He flat out told the person, in front of everyone, "No one has ever told me not to do it this way so how was I to know it was wrong?" It was his first job as well.
This was a light bulb moment for everyone. Advise all of those around you that this is your first job and you need any mistakes pointed out immediately and that YOU will fix the errors so you know what to do next time correctly.

I really feel this. I just went through pretty much the exact same thing as you. Same sort of shift, same shitty boss. My boss was nice to me on the first day and that was it. After that, she became totally condescending. She would treat everyone but me with kindness and respect while I did all her grunt work. She gave vague instructions and didn’t train me, but still expected me to know everything. She would always be passive aggressive with me when I messed up and treated me like a troubled child while I was trying to get used to the job. I quit in a month because her behavior only worsened. It took a serious toll on my mental health and self-confidence. If you have a place that you’re staying for free (like with your parents), quit. If you can get another job lined up for yourself after, even better. These are the types of bosses that will completely wreck your self-image. With these types, it’s never a you problem, it’s your boss’. I hope you found/will find a job that treats you better in the future! Good luck! anonymous 2 hours ago
