A tale of two cities

Sometimes I visit family, who live in a fancy and rich techie city. There is a neighboring city next to it that has a huge drug problem.
1. Take the train, I get approached by people injecting themselves asking for money
2. Wait for the bus from the train station to my family's place, there are people there who are having seizure kind of movements from drug use
3. Go to a nice restaurant, there are people crouching, shaking or holding their head forever due to various types of drugs including Fentanyl.
4. Went to take an exam at a test centre, there were 4 drug addicts outside shaking.
It is also not uncommon to come across someone who has dangerously overdosed.
Some people are consuming drugs in and around public transit. Most of these people are below poverty line.

It is a sad situation... It is depressing to go out sometimes because of what I get to see.
