Parents will lie because they want access to their kids even if it means they gotta be sneaky. It is what it is. Are you in high school or college? Either way when parents don’t give their older kids much needed privacy and some amount of independence, all they really do is teach their kids how to be sneaky and better liars.

You know your mom is lying and you also know she ain’t gonna confess the truth. You can’t control how she’s gonna act, but you can control what you do with that information. If you know she can hear hear you, doesn’t matter now if she ever admits she can hear you. You just gotta adjust even if that means you just have to be quiet as hell.

I’m in college and I still live with my family at home. I have the same problem. They don’t respect my privacy, but my mom actually admitted she likes to listen to me on the phone whenever she can and she’s gotten mad at me after she opened my mail and read stuff she didn’t approve of.
I know my mom is gonna go through my shit so I barely stay home and when I am home, it’s just to shower and sleep and even then I’m quiet as hell. I even got a fucking PO Box so she can’t go through my mail anymore.

It sucks, but it’s the truth. You have your facts, you know your mom can hear you AND she’s never gonna admit it. You just gotta adjust and make your own moves from there. If it’s out of your control, adjust. If it’s within your control, then cool. Do what you can. Shit is annoying, but until you get your own place unfortunately you just gotta deal with the people you live with.
