Trump Performative Operation

The whole Midnight Hammer operation was a performative operation. Bunker Buster bombs are not really capable of total destruction of well constructed bunkers deep inside a mountain. The best example of a mountainous underground bunker is the US Cheyenne Mountain Complex which is 2K feet underground under a granite mountain. It's rated nuke impenetrable. The budget version of this setup where the Iranians situated part of their nuclear program is 300 feet underground under a mountain. However, a well built concrete bunker only 20 feet underground can probably survive a 100kt tactical nuke which is a low end modern weapon. For comparison the Fat Man, the largest of the two dropped on Japan was 21kt. All BDA from various intelligence agencies including the US say the bombing operation was a huge dud re the Iranian nuclear program, setting it back only months. One generous assessment from the Israelis, who likely are mindful of stroking Trump's ego, put it at a 2yr set back.
