I saw a reddit post that was a "cool fact" about how Oxford predated the Aztec alliance.
Want another cool fact for you savage Europeans? The Potawatomi (Bodewadmi(k)), Ottawa (Odawa), and Chipewa (Ojibwe/Ojibway) formed a confederacy that predates Oxford by several hundred years.
Here we were being savages forming multi-state/nation confederacies and alliances before Europeans could choose leaders based on criteria beyond who they were related to, their last name, and occasionally how many people they successfully killed. Crazy how we're the savages who contributed nothing though, isn't it?
Apparently The Three Fires Confederacy goes back to 796 AD. Oxford wasn't even established until 1096 AD. A solid 300 years after we formed our confederacy and peacefully existed amongst each other indigenously. The breakup wasn't violent, and neither was our expansion into Kickapoo territory.
Yes, some tribes were violent just like how Europeans sometimes bomb children, enslave people not like them, and rape women depending on how they feel or the women look.
Just wanted to drop some more knowledge for Redditors who "care" about equality. :)
