The military

The military

So I’m male, in my 20s. I’ve always been opposed to joining the military. I thought it was because I was afraid of death or I didn’t want to kill people or some nonsense like that. I’ve done some self reflection, and actually, I think the real problem has more to do with personality types. The military is good for people who know how to follow orders. It’s good for people who need a little structure in their life. Men who are on the straight and narrow, essentially. The problem with me is that I’m a creative personality type so I’m self directed. I think having a job where I get payed to commit legal murder could actually work if instead of an authoritarian power structure, the government just let me be creative and self directed and decide who to kill, where, and why. I think that would be much easier for me. Don’t tell me to go to a specific country to kill a specific person. Just tell me how many people I should kill and I can work from there and decide where I’ll find those people. You can trust me. Just trust me bro.

Or you know what, let me choose the number too. I’m good with numbers. I’ll come up with numbers you’ve never even heard of before. Ever growing numbers. Ridiculous numbers.

I am willing to fill out a google form each month detailing why each person I killed deserved to die.

You can trust me because I believe in all the good stuff and none of the bad stuff. I believe in freedom, I believe in democracy, I believe in love, I believe in friendship. I don’t believe in communism, I don’t believe in dinosaurs, I don’t believe in the moon landing. I’m basically 100% ideologically in line, so you don’t even have to give me orders because I’m going to make exactly the same decisions as you.

Except I’ve never been in love or had a friend. But the scientific evidence is overwhelming.
