It's easy to make the mistake of thinking that because you have the same diagnosis as someone else, you have comparable problems and experiences. To a point you probably do. But then there are differences.
You have depression and so do they. Okay, well if one of you has "sleep nonstop for a week" depression and the other one has "rant and cry and scream like a toddler" depression, that's not the same and probably not that compatible.
You both have PTSD. Alright. But if one of you has "I got into therapy as soon as I was old enough to sign a consent to treatment form" PTSD and the other has "I was on Klonopin for a month once so I must be fine, you're the problem" PTSD...well, good luck.
