I need to buy a detached house

I am tired of condo lifestyle. I need to save and buy a detached house. I can buy one in the suburbs, but I prefer buying a house close to work. We have 6 houses, but the cost of a house in the city will really pinch. It is about 2 million dollars. Ouch! I will study the stock market more tonight. Need to find better stocks to invest in. I need more returns. I will paint my home interiors in earthy tones and give it the whole cottage vibe. It will feel comfy like Grandma's quilt.
