I genuinely hate some of the customers that come to my workplace. I work in fast food so I get the usual complaints of waiting too long, food is cold, wrong customisation, etc. But to be so real some of these people baffle me on a daily basis.
1. Anyone who doesn’t have the ability to answer a simple question and will jump through hoops fetching all types of irrelevant information only to then complain that I’m taking too long.
“If you let me know how much you paid I can find your receipt on the system to reprint it.”
“Yeah so I got a cheeseburger and fries and four drinks and also three pies.”
“Roughly how much did you pay? A guess is fine but that’s how I can find the receipt.”
“All the drinks were no ice.”
JUST ANSWER THE FUCKING QUESTION???
2. Anyone who doesn’t accept the answer I’m telling them and tries to intimidate me into doing what they want.
I once handed a guy the medium coffee he ordered for him to say “It’s meant to be a large.” Ok, check receipt and see he’s only paid for a medium. “I’m sorry but it’s medium as that’s what you paid for.” He then started saying “It’s GOING to be a large or else we’ll have PROBLEMS.” Ok??
Another guy said “I hope you don’t live to see another day” when I wouldn’t give him sauces that he didn’t pay for.
3. People who give me random information and then just stare at me as if that changes anything.
I let someone know our card machines were down so it was cash only at the moment, and they said “But I don’t ever carry cash so I haven’t got any” then hit me with the thousand yard stare. Cool, so the obvious next steps here are you leave and go get cash or come back later, okay??
Other times I’ve had people asking for items that we either discontinued or ran out of, and when I inform them we don’t have it they just stand there mouth gaping open saying “Well I don’t want anything else.” ALRIGHT SO LEAVE THEN???
