childhood beliefs

Adulthood has been about releasing all of the programming for me. My parents were mostly absent. My dad wasn’t in my life a lot, my mom took on a single mother role for the three of us in my early childhood. I am the middle child. She had to work to provide for us and wasn’t as attentive as one would wish their mother to be. Still, I love and appreciate her and can be grateful now looking back. So, when you don’t have parents building your self esteem, telling you how to see the world in a positive light, or showing you all the beauty in life, your beliefs kind of just get molded by what’s around you. The way people treat you and respond to you or tell you to think. It sucks to think I had to do so much work to rewrite the tangled mess of my inner self. But ive arrived here, in a weird transitory state, believing in myself, watching the self hate come up and loving it into balance. I don’t know where to go from here. I just have to keep trying my best. It’s noon now. My life is in a really weird place. It’s possible to change for the better. It’s possible to be the mother and father to my inner child I wished I had. I am grateful I get to be a beautiful woman and I’m going to keep trying to do better and put love out into the world.
