Can't erase unpleasant history

Christopher Columbus has been outed for some time now as being the man who basically initiated the genocide of the inhabitants of the entire Western Hemisphere. And of course the regresive right does not want to face this and instead wants to ignore those atrocities because it fucks with their self centered worldview and they rather go back to chanting the asinine rhyme "In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue". And to help them, Trump is going to erect a statue of Christopher Columbus in front of the White House "to honor Italian-Americans" (complete bullshit and toilet paper thin at that). Of course, you can expect Trump to monster the school system into teaching the MAGA version of Columbus's story. And I'm sure that they won't mention that Columbus was TAKEN back to Spain IN CHAINS. I'm glad I'm not a grade school student. They are a captive audience just ripe for indoctrination into whatever is the prevailing political narrative of the time.
