Shit city led by shit people

I’m related to somebody who’s in a very high position in what’s called the “help” industries (i am purposely trying to be vague) in our city. Without going into detail, because we are family, I’ve gotten to personally witness how corrupt a lot of people in these “help” industries are. Birds of a feather really do flock together. A few years ago people on tiktok were talking about their high school mean girl grew up to become a nurse and I think there must be some sort of pipeline of the most narcissistic assholes getting into the “help” industries.

I’ve also noticed the same people who enable and agree with people like my relative is because they’re either equally as shitty and share the same corrupt values or they’re only doing it to keep close to the person in power in hopes that it’ll benefit them in some way sooner or later. And the unknowing surrounding communities support them without thinking or looking into these a little deeper because in general, when you hear about people working in these “help” industries, you generally think positively of them because they’re doing something good for the community and are viewed as selfless by default BECAUSE of their choice of being in this career field.

But from what I’ve witnessed myself for years, that’s exactly why these assholes get these jobs. It’s so they can APPEAR “good” and get easy compliments thanks to their their job.

But for these people, it’s not about making an actual difference and-or helping make the communities a better place. It’s about getting clout and having a positive reputation that gets them compliments and praise and maybe even having some forms of power or authority.

It’s so disgusting to see what’s actually going on and actually being planned from behind the scenes, but I know there’s nothing I can do. Going against people in the “help” industries out here makes you automatically look like the biggest dick in the world out here and if you piss off the wrong person from where I live, it’s pretty common to dox people.

The worst people get into positions of power, work in “help” industries, and will have whole crowds of people supporting and enabling them (unknowing or not) and the city just lets it happen because it makes the city look good for some reason.

I’m really over it all to be honest. I’m just done.
