Doing the job you are legally obligated to do and nothing else is literally just doing your job.
If your boss is constantly upping your workload with other peoples tasks, out of work activities, staying late while working unpaid, and giving you the workload of other positions, while not giving you the titles or benefits, that is wage theft at worst, and wage compression at the bare minimum.

Quiet quitting is about protecting your benefits that you’d lose with your employer like healthcare and retirement (401k). COBRA is fucking expensive.
In a right-to-work state they can fire you for any reason. You can apply for unemployment, but best case scenario you just money while you’re forced to look for another job that not may be as good as the last one. Worst case scenario the state declines you for a ton of reasons you won’t read on Reddit.
Wage compression is for people with cushy white collar jobs who are worried about making $95,000/yr instead of $85,000/yr. People already well above the median on their own, and should be able to survive in most markets comfortably. anonymous 1 day ago
