Got a work offer?!

A few weeks back I interviewed with a company related to the auto industry for an HR position, this company is 3.5 hours away from my home. Since I have been unemployed for over 7 months, I'm open to taking any opportunity and figure out logistics later depending on offer. I should've known that this company was BS, let me tell you the story, but let me set up the players, useless Intern, fucked up hiring manager and VERY inappropriate SR HRD.

FIRST RED FLAG: for my first interview with the HRD she appeared on camera looking totally disheveled and shared that she was on "vacation" and to excuse how she looked. But as a true professional I decided to move forward with the meeting. For the most part it was pretty standard, good questions and I believe that the meeting went well- which it did.

RED FLAG 2:
The following week, I was scheduled to visit the site, this was on a Monday, again the intern scheduling confirmed the location day and time, Monday at 10:30 am - 3.5 hours travel. I arrived at the location I was meet with the HR generalist- also gunning for the position BTW- I was told. I was scheduled to meet with the OPS manager for the site and take the tour. I meet with the OPs manager who has been with the company for 28 years, when he took me on the floor, he casually said to me "I wish you could've come on another day, Mondays for this location is our day that operations are down because of union rules" and you guessed it- THERE WAS NO ONE ON SITE! except for a handful of employees, he said "I should've rescheduled but the meeting was confirmed." TRUE it was confirmed on a THURSDAY, I'm on my email every single fucking day, even if he would've reached out on Sunday, I would've received it saving me the 8-hour trip for that day!!!

I had fun checking out an empty plant for 45 minutes and then getting on the road for the 3.5-hour travel time return.

RED FLAG 3:
The amazing intern scheduled the final meeting via TEAMS with the SR Regional HRD, I prepared myself to meet with him only but came to find out that it was a panel meeting which I was not informed, again not a big deal I had to adapt. Out of 3 invited, I was online and the OPS manager whom I meet on site, the hiring manager was invited but not online and the SR regional HRD came online late was on the road travelling somewhere, was not online. When the SR regional HRD dialed in he shared that he was on the road not able to view my resume and was asking the OPS manager to find the hiring manager. The SR regional HRD was not happy that was scheduled to this meeting and proceeded to berate the OPS manager regarding the set up for the meeting and while I was online said to him "His name_______Fucking GET IT TOGHETER, I cannot attend this meeting, we need to schedule another time" and then disconnected, NO sorry, no apologies NOTHING!!! so, the OPS manager said to me "Ok I will check in with the hiring manager, and we will get back to you."

RED FLAG 4:
I had the pleasure of connecting with the idiot intern and scheduled the meeting with the asshole. BEFORE YOU COME FOR ME, YES, I stayed connected, I needed to, at this point I wanted to know what other shit was going to happen, I was not losing anything, it was more for my amusement to see where it would go. I was scheduled for another TEAMS meeting and this time I asked if this was going to be a panel or just him, that moron said only him. So, the day came, the asshole was late and when he logged in, he said that he was still travelling and having issues with his camera and would prefer to keep his camera on, when this happens most interviewers give you the opportunity to also close your camera, BUT HE DID NOT. So, the questions started, I provided answers, I don't know how this guy was placed in the HR position, his vocabulary was not appropriate and how he asked questions... one example: "why do you want to work for this company, but let's not kid ourselves its always for the money, no one works for fun." The statement itself was not what irked me, but how he said it... the way he said it, I responded referring back to my experience in manufacturing. When it was my time to ask questions, I felt rushed and one of the questions was "how does upper management view this role" He said, NO ONE in upper management gives a shit about the location, they only want production and revenue....so that shut me up...before we wrapped up she asked me if I was local to the area, I said no, I was 3.5 hours away and he replied "well I don't know where that is or care."

FINAL FLAG - BEST ONE!!
A week later I was sent an email with an offer for employment, NO CALL, NO TEXT, JUST AN EMAIL! I was they were not too thrilled to have me join and kind of felt like they were settling with me, that's how it was perceived. I examined the offer and the number was not bad, but I have never accepted an offer without first negotiating, I have 20 years exp in HR in manufacturing, I know my worth. Sent it back to the recruiter and gave her my counter, she called me to ask about the number and if I would take a relo bonus I said I would consider. I did not hear back, Tuesday, or Wednesday, I got a text from the hiring manager to call her to go over the details. I called her she said that they were working on "the offer" and wanted to have some details about my living situation like, do I own or rent, who is coming with me, other stupid questions...all were answered with husband next to me. Who also said this was very strange. YOU GUESSED IT NO CALL OR TEXT NEXT DAY FRIDAY, MONDAY, TUESDAY and on Wednesday the recruiter called to tell me that they are still working on "the offer" and we should know soon. Again, no call Monday, on Tuesday of week 3 I get a message from the hiring manager saying that I should have something before end of week. WELL GUESS WHAT TODAY IS END OF WEEK AND NOTHING!!! I'm ranting at 5:37 pm Friday, IT IS OFFICIALLY OVER. THAT COMPANY IS FUCKED UP, not sure why it was decided to fuck with me, when they could've easily said FUCK YOU, YOU ARE NOT WORTH IT, WE CANNOT MEET YOUR NUMBER, GOOD LUCK.

BUT I'm glad that I did not stop meeting with other companies, I had a feeling and it's not good that fuckers like that exist in this world, I'm still unemployed, why do this!
