Hi, I just want to vent this out so I can sleep and for my mental health also.
I'm working as a Social Worker but I'm still 20 yrs old, actually I don't want this job but my parents and my auntie and grandma forced me to accept this work like are they ME???!!! Huhhhh
Unfortunately after crying I decided to accept it cause I Thought it will be a good experience for my work experience However I'm an introvert that's the problem I got drained on and off like after interviewing a patient in a day I feel like I'm going to lock up myself in my room and don't want to go out.
So this is my Real Rant, this auntie that a social worker wants me to accept this job like I said earlier "social worker" but I don't want it.
Fast forward... This year, she's always no your wrong, you didn't put the name of this and that. Always giving me orders like she's my boss, she's my partner. She should be teaching me because I don't have experience on this but what she does is gaslighting me that I'm the one to blame she don't want to be blame, overpowering me if that's the word for superiority that she's giving me orders and commanding, still angry when not followed she can do it by herself. I want to resign for my mental health, the salary is like what $118 dollar in 3 months! I'm tired...
Is this a valid reason to resign? Sorry for the construction of my English it's my second language. Thank you for reading

If you don’t want the job, do not do it. When you force yourself to do something you don’t like, every single day will feel like you’re having your energy & life sucked out of you. No job in the world is worth it if it means you will come out more depressed or drained. You do what’s best for you.
If you are old enough to work and have a job, you are old enough to make your own decisions. Both my parents come from countries where parents are usually very strict and it’s expected to always respect and follows the orders of your elders even if they are wrong. Even when I was a kid I understood that is wrong and that is one of the many reason people are so mentally unwell in those countries. So for me, when I was an adult (I am also born in the US for context) I just stopped listening to them. I am not legally obligated to listen to what other adults want me to do, family or not. Now, I am happy with my life. I only apply to jobs I like. My family has no authority over what jobs I work.
You need to do the same. If you are old enough to work, you are also old enough to make your own decisions. Please find a job that you want for yourself and that you are more suited to.
I hope everything works out for you. anonymous 7 hours ago
