Dog Didn't Like Him Either

So I'm out in driveway washing the car and this little girl about 10 y/o comes down the street walking a huge ass dog. The dog stops to sniff around my mailbox to "see what other dogs have passed by" like they do and the girl and I exchange hellos. She seems a really sweet girl and has chatted with me before to tell me she thought my flowers were pretty when I was working in the yard. So this old guy driving down the street slows down and rolls down the car window to chat with the girl about her dog. Right away I don't like the vibe this guy is throwing off and the girl did not act like she knew him, sorry but he was throwing off serious pedo vibes. He sees me looking a them chatting and gives me a half ass wave and hello. So I say hello back to him and by this time the girl has moved from the mailbox up right up to his car window and the guy is really chatting her up about the dog. The dog who had his back to the girl still at the mailbox sniffing around was about to add his calling card but noticed that the girl had moved right up to the car. The dog stopped mid leg rise and immediately turned his attention away from the mailbox and went to stand by right by the girl even though he had plenty of leash to stay at the mailbox. The dog was tensed up in alert mode, no tail wagging anymore like when he was enjoying his mailbox experience, just staring down the guy. So I'm thinking, wow the dog doesn't like this guy's vibe either. BTW I'm female.
