Asshole neighbour

Got a complaint from this guy because I apparently play my videogames and music too loud. A valid concern except for one small problem, I always wear headphones when doing so. I've had multiple notes taped to my door and he will bang his fists or something else against our shared wall regularly.

I've tried to approach him and talk it out in a civil manner, he either ignores my knocks on his door or avoids me in public. I have no idea why he won't talk to me because I've not done or said anything to make him scared of me, I haven't even interacted with at all in person.

This has been going on

Maybe you are hollering and stomping when playing and don't even realize it. Come out in the world and talk to real live people sometime, it helps to gain some empathy for others. Just sayin.......

If you live in an apartment building he might actually hear noise but it could be from somebody else. I’ve found generally though, the problem with people who get mad about stuff, is they don’t want to listen no matter how obviously wrong they end up being. But if he’s banging on your walls, you could just record a video that shows he’s making noise and you’re not making noise.

I had an apartment neighbor complain that I was showering and blow drying my hair in the morning. I told the manager I refused to alter my grooming for a butt hurt neighbor. Yup, apartment living can really suck. Try and find a house or duplex to rent.
