They constantly have written very creative, yet desperate pleas for donations, each getting increasingly desperate and are then shoved into the site visitors face when just trying to casually check something, threatening their closure (honestly wish they just would close, does anyone get a salary whoever owns/co-owns Wikipedia? If they can't even afford to keep the site running? about time they shut it down if it's not being supported properly.)
Bans for making additions they don't agree with, then why is it open for anyone to add to, then?
Just get official sources adding to it if it's that much of a problem guys.
As well as information on there seeming a bit off, warnings of "may need t be correct / accurate / might be spelling issues" scattered across pages, and begging for you to help.. the maintenance of the site is a joke.
Just fuck off Wikipedia, you apparently made your funding goal or something this year but how many pathetic banner pop up adds over the course of God knows how long, (months/years) did that take, face it, you aren't valued as a proper site.
But, there you were at the site to "casually check something" as millions of people do, and which you must do quite often since you so accurately described the site and its flaws. anonymous 5 years ago
No shit, most people use Wikipedia. Google, DDG, and Bing all shill it as the be-all of internet knowledge, seeing as they've seemed to have given up on anything but landing pages, sponsors, wiki, and a couple Q&a sites and forums. You almost have to use Wikipedia. It sucks to run banner ads the way they do. And admins and wannabe admins there have a stick up their ass, fighting the good fight against anything the EU doesn't like. anonymous 5 years ago
Search "does wikipedia need donations", btb. Wikipedia is not so needy as their guilt-based donation drives might lead users to believe. anonymous 5 years ago
