There are places

There are places in this world where you don't have to physically harm someone for it to be considered abuse worthy of a prison sentence. There are places where if you yell at a guy in a company phone bank, you can be arrested. There are places where just being verbally cruel can be enough to get you in trouble with the law. Right now I wish I lived someplace like that.

I have had the worst and cruelest shit said to me by the people I have loved the most. They always pretend it's either "constructive criticism" or them "standing up for themselves." Constructive criticism doesn't mean acting like what's essential to who and what I am is a disposable annoyance. Standing up for yourself doesn't mean slicing into me for no reason and accusing me of shit I would never do. I'm sorry if other people's lives aren't turning out exactly as they want. Mine isn't either. But when I can't get on my feet, you don't see me knocking people down so I have company. I might ask for a hand up if I think someone might be able to offer a little help, but I realize that's nobody's job.

I'm just tired of all this.
