So, this a--hole sells me this old car. He explains away the plastic magnet covering this grate for the heater/vent between the hood and the windshield as being there to keep rain out, because that area is prone to rust. I look in there, it's nicely painted, and totally welded shut as it is supposed to be (except for the grate of course), and I think that's a good idea. I get the piece of crap home, after towing it 700 freaking miles in the rain, and the inside is soaked, from water coming in through the heater, through this grate, after his stupid magnet blew off. As it turns out, the jerk that painted the car for this a--hole didn't reinstall the devices the factory had there to prevent water from coming in, when they repainted, and it will cost me thousands of dollars to fix it since it's all welded up! The real reason this guy had the plastic magnet over it is not to prevent rust, it is because any water that gets into this grate, that is totally open by design to rain/water, goes straight into the car's heater and then the interior. In the mean time I can't wash the thing or drive it in the rain. I am about ready to drive the stupid thing through his living room.Posted 2 years ago
